The Death of the Homepage: Why "Welcome" is a Waste of Money
If I look at your website right now, I bet I can guess the first word I see. "Welcome."
"Welcome to [Company Name]. We have been in business since 1995. We value quality." This is not marketing. This is a brochure. And brochures do not sell.
The "Squeeze" Philosophy
Most websites fail because they try to be everything to everyone. A child psychologist's website lists 9 different services: Teen Pregnancy, Bullying, Depression, Peer Pressure. A parent landing there is overwhelmed. They leave.
To dominate a market, you need a Squeeze Page. This is a single page dedicated to one problem and one solution. No navigation bars. No "About Us." Just a focused sales argument.
The Conversion Equation
To make a Squeeze Page work, we use the Incrementum Conversion Equation:
1. INTERRUPT (The Headline)
You must state the problem they have but don't want.
Bad Headline: "Parenting Advice from Dr. Smith."
Incrementum Headline: "Are You Sick and Tired of The Yelling, Screaming & Belligerent Attitude of Your Child?"
2. ENGAGE (The Sub-Headline)
You must state the result they want but don't have.
Incrementum Sub-head: "Discover the secrets to controlling your child and instantly restore peace and quiet."
3. EDUCATE (The Proof)
Don't just say you are good. Prove it. Offer a "Free Guide" or a video that solves a small piece of their problem immediately.
4. OFFER (The Low-Friction Step)
Stop asking them to "Call for a Free Consultation." That is a high-pressure sales meeting in disguise. Offer Information. "Enter your email to get the 60-Second Control Technique."
The Result
The Doctor using the "Brochure Site" got a 10% response rate. The Doctor using the "Squeeze Page" got a 60% response rate.
Same traffic. Same doctor. 6x the leads. Stop building websites that look pretty. Build infrastructure that squeezes revenue from traffic.
